Though some said it couldn’t be done, the Marlins have pulled off a win in the Championship-clinching game 6 of the World Series, beating the Yankees 2-0, and winning the series 4-2.
Best of all, Josh Beckett pitched the entire game, and tagged the runner for the final out. Brilliant.

Congrats. It sure was nice to tune in last night after a boycott following the Sox implosion. Especially gratifying was the game ending grounder hit by Posada to Beckett — sweet retribution :-)
Hell ya!!! To tell you the truth, I’m not so much a Marlin fan as a to-the-death Yankee HATER. I rooted for the Marlins in the Series, for the Sox in the ALCS… all because the Yankees always seem to beat up on my poor Baltimore Orioles during the regular season.
That last Posada hit was the weakest thing I’ve ever seen since I played Little League ;)
… and the weblog bragging rights go to… DAN RUBIN!!!!
For the record, I hate the Yankees too. I do have to say that Beckett was awesome. Those young Marlins lmost made it an interesting series to watch. I will say it was much better than I’d expected.
Beckett is a STUD. I was SO impressed by him. Congrats. Must be nice to be a fan of a world champion. Now, if only my Kansas City Chiefs can finish the job and/or my Kansas Jayhawks live up to the hype, maybe I’ll be in the same boat. :)
