@Eric: It’s Myriad Pro, which looks great at 9px/10px if you use “Crisp” anti-aliasing in Photoshop (or if you set your text in Fireworks).

I’ll send you the PSD so you can create your own versions :)

What font did you use to create these? It’s so small that I wouldn’t be able to tell even if I were a typography nerd, and I’d like to know in case I need to create one with a custom orientation.

I disagree with those that say there is “no value to tthe end user” as Flickr needed to do this to allow them to then offer things that they could not do before. They could have handled it all better, but they are admitting that themselves.

That said, I’m totally stoked about adding “OldSkool” to my icon over there tonight.

I honestly don’t mind the assimilation so much, but could they make it easier to sign in? Geez. That process has so many screens, it may as well include a fingerprint scan and signature. ;)
