Example: “I was shocked by the superfluous amount I’m expected to pay for a stupid ‘pedestrian in roadway’ ticket I received at SXSW this year.”

Ha! I almost forwarded that to you but thought, “Nah, that’d be too geeky.”

Guess it wasn’t too geeky after all. :P

And speaking of superfluous amounts… I haven’t received mine yet. Looking forward to being angry.

That’s funny, I was just heading over to your site to let you know about the Dictionary.com Word of the Day. But I see you’re already on it.

So would you consider your “banter” to be unnecessary, useless or excessive?

Wade: 1st prize for most creative usage (prize amount: $125 or 6 months community service + $100)

Matthew: Are you saying I’m a geek or something? ;)

Patrick: Hmm… (ponders…) certainly not excessive (judging by my posting frequency last year), I’d like to think it’s not unnecessary, so I’ll take “Words that are synonyms for useless” for $125, Alex.

FWIW, banter was the word of the day at McMurray Middle School on 2/14/06. (Note, this page will probably be updated and, thus, this reference will be lost.)

Your thoughts, por favor
