About this site's lack of design: Yes, it's supposed to look this way — I'm helping create a new sandbox theme for WordPress (see it on GitHub).

Should I Redesign?

OK, if there’s anyone out there who actually reads this site, please let me know your thoughts on redesigning this site.

First, I’d like to know if you think the site needs a redesign. If you do, comment on what you would like to see in the design (usability features, layout, colors, etc.)

I promise I will review every single item of feedback, and since this site is mostly for you, the reader, I will be weighing your input more heavily than my own this time around.

    Two comments…

First, I love your website’s current design. I read about 10 to 15 blog sites regularly (This being one of them), and of all the blog sites I read, this is my favourite design.

That being said, I’m quite interested to see what other nice design ideas you’ve got up your sleeve, if you decide to do a redesign on your site.

So although I love the current design, and don’t really see any need for you to change it, I’d also love to see what you do with the site if you decide to redesign it.

    Mike

Hi Mike, thanks for your thoughts!

I suffer (somewhat unfortunately) from an inability to leave well enough alone, so I always have new ideas (I spend a ton of time in Photoshop doing comps, most of which never see the light of day :-(

I’ve been very happy with this design, which is the reason it hasn’t changed since it was launched. This was about the 5th design I comped before I was happy enough to commit to figuring out the code.

There are a number of web sites I respect (Zeldman, DiveIntoMark, StopDesign) which have been recently redesigned, and I’ve just picked up the bug I suppose…

Thanks again for throwing in your two-cents :-)

    Cheers,

    Dan

I like the design, It is subtle and clean. The colors play well together, the logo supports the content. Don’t see too many blogs that actually feel “branded”. Nice job.

Don’t change it – if it ani’t broke, don’t fix it!
